David L. “Butch” Clawson, age 60, of Waterford, died unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, April 5, 2008. Born on April 30, 1947 in Indiana, PA, he was the son of the late Wilbur and Grace Gardner Clawson. He married Maxine Pugh Clawson on June 20, 1970, and she died March 23, 2005.
Butch lived most of his life in Waterford. He was a loving father and grandfather and had many interests. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, cooking, and spotting deer, and he enjoyed working in his yard, riding his four-wheeler, and taking care of his truck. Years ago he played drums at the church he attended.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine, and his sister, Betty Greenwalt.
Survivors include two daughters, Tammie Clawson and partner Harry Ruckman IV, and Tanya Driscoll and husband Scott, all of Waterford; four grandchildren, David Blewett, and Scott, Justine, and Kate Lynn Driscoll; a sister, Sarah Vascovich and husband Robert, brother-in-law Barry Pugh and wife Linda, all of Waterford, and sister-in-law Sheila Pooley and husband Bryan of Buena Vista, Virginia; and special friends, Brian Blewett, Al Brooks, and Larry and Nancy Gray, and other friends and family in Waterford, Indiana, and Buena Vista, Virginia.
Friends may call at the Van Matre Funeral Home, West First and Walnut Streets, Waterford on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held there on Wednesday morning at 11:00am officiated by Rev. Dennis Fetter of Asbury United Methodist Church of Waterford. Interment will be in Waterford Cemetery.
