Paul F. Perkins, age 78, died April 28, 2008 at Golden Living Center in Titusville, PA where he had resided since November, 2006. Previously he had made his home with his son, Thomas K. Perkins at 18232 Erie Street, Centerville, PA since 2002. Born in Cambridge Springs on February 13, 1930, he was a son of the late Ernest William “SY” Perkins and Florence A. Pees Perkins. He married Relda Catherine Kane on February 19, 1960 and she died on February 24, 1999.
Perkins, Paul F.A union carpenter, he belonged to the Greater PA Regional Council of Carpenters, Local # 2274 of Pittsburgh for 35 years, retiring in 1986. He also was a veal farmer in Andover, Ohio until 1999 and loved to raise horses and work outside. Survivors include a son – Thomas K. Perkins and his wife, Diana of Centerville; a daughter – Kathy Davis and her husband, Randy of Newport, NC; six grandchildren – Amanda Willis and her husband, Robert; Shanna Cornell and her husband, Jeromy; Danielle Bayers and her husband, Bob; Tom Perkins, Jr.; Chris Perkins; and Katelyn Davis; seven great grandchildren; a sister – Marjorie “Meidge” Sceiford of Northeast, PA; and a brother – George Perkins and his wife, Wendy of Grand Valley, PA. Preceding Paul in death was a brother – Robert Perkins who died in World War II; a sister – Mary Anton; and a dear friend – Evelyn Stewart.
Friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 and are invited to attend funeral services there on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Todd Onink, Asera Care Hospice chaplain officiating. Interment will be in Cambridge Cemetery.
