Martha Eleanor Kramer, age 82, resident of 17766 North Richmond Road, Cambridge Springs, PA died Saturday, June 7, 2008 at Meadville Medical Center. She had made her home in rural Cambridge Springs since 1963 and was in failing health. Born on December 6, 1925 in Middlefield, Geauga County, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Charles Gura and Amelia Wachter Gura. On October 1, 1949 she married Elmer Leo Kramer and he preceded her in death on October 2, 1988.
A home maker, Mrs. Kramer worked on the family farm and was an especially good cook. She enjoyed the canning of food and crocheting. An interesting pasttime of hers was that she was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler sportsfan.
Family members surviving include three daughters – Charlotte Shoop and her husband, Ralph of Guys Mills; Jean Beatty and her husband, William of Cambridge Springs and Ann Kramer who made her home with her mother. Two sisters also survive – Betty Staple and Louise Mausling both of Montville, OH. Preceding in death was a son, Joey and two infant twin sons.
Friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday morning at 10:00 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Cambridge Springs with Monsignor Lawrence Speice, pastor of the Church as celebrant. Interment will be in Lyona Cemetery, Richmond Twp., Crawford County.
