Charles Leroy Bundy, age 74, resident of 22357 Hwy # 19, Cambridge Springs, PA, died Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at Meadville Medical Center, Meadville, PA following a sudden illness. Born on September 12, 1933 in Cambridge Springs, he was a son of the late Fay Bundy and Zetta Johnson Bundy. On February 2, 1952 he married the former Elsamae G. Fry and she survives.
.Bundy, Charles LeroyFor over 30 years he was employed by Schneider Transport of Green Bay, WI, retiring in 1992. He had previously been employed as a truck driver for Clair Ferry Trucking in Saegertown and for Frank Tucci Construction in Cambridge Springs. As a result of driving safely for those years, Charlie earned a million mile safe driver award. Charlie loved to hunt and fish and he enjoyed maintaining his lawn, working hard to keeping it looking immaculate. He was affiliated with the First Church of God in Cambridge Springs.
In addition to his wife of 56 years, family members surviving include five sons – Richard L. Bundy and his wife, Cindi of Millsboro, PA; Mark L. Bundy and his wife, Carolyn L. of Cambridge Springs; Tim R. Bundy of Saegertown; Charles D. Bundy and his wife, Jennifer of Marrieta, GA; and Brian E. Bundy and his wife, Sheila M. of Cambridge Springs; a daughter – Roxane E. Frantz and her husband, Bob of Cochranton; a sister – Myrna Mitchell and her husband, Merritt and a brother, Robert Bundy and his companion, Jane Sanner all of Cambridge Springs; ten grandchildren – Leah, Richard, Gianna, Naomi, Holly, Megan, Hannah, Heather, Samantha, and Katelyn. Also ten great grandchildren survive. Preceding Charlie in death was a grandson – Jeremy Bundy; two sisters – Juanita Landers and Margaret Winnale; and a brother – George Bundy.
Friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral services will be held there on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend James Callender, pastor of the First Church of God in Cambridge Springs officiating.
