Edward John Schepner Jr., age 77,of Cambridge Springs, Pa passed away Monday, July 7, 2008 at Golden Living Center in Cambridge Springs after a long illness. He was born on July 29,1930 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Edward and Helen Schepner. On November 29, 1958 he married the former Edith Mitchell and she survives. He had lived in Cambridge Springs for over 50 years. Ed was employed by Lord Corporation doing maintenance work for 22 years retiring in July of 1993. He enjoyed spending time with family, traveling, and hunting. As an avid fisherman he spent many long hours on French Creek.
In addition to his wife, Edith, family surviving Edward include two daughters – Jill Shaffer and her husband, Chris of Meadville and Valerie Orr and her husband, Dennis of Cambridge Springs; a son- Michael Yarkosky of Cambridge Springs; a sister – Louise Cain of Lake Wales, FL; a nephew – Raymond Hale of Lake Wales, FL; a step brother – Herb Modrak of Zelienople; and a step-sister – Veronica Mekling of Zelienople. There will be no calling hours. Private graveside services will be held Wednesday at Jervis Cemetery, Rockdale Township for the immediate family. Ed will be sadly missed by his dog, Abby, and his cats, Tommy and Rudy, as well as his family and many friends. Arrangements are under the direction of the Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs.
