Steven Mark Bieganski, age 41, stationed at Fort Riley US Army Base in Junction City, Kansas died at his home, 919 Valley View Drive, Apt # 11, Junction City, KS unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 6, 2008. Born on July 23, 1967 in Meadville, PA, he was a son of Arthur B. Bieganski and Joann Croyle Bieganski.
Following graduation from Saegertown High School in 1985, Steven worked for several years and then attended Edinboro University for two years. In 1990 he entered the US Army and made it his career. He presently was a Sergeant 1st class specializing in topography and had returned from Iraq in May after serving there for 15 months. While in the service he was working for a degree in mechanical engineering. When able, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and in general being in the out-of-doors. He also enjoyed skiing and golf.
Steven is survived by his parents – Arthur and Joann Bieganski of Saegertown; his wife ???? Heather, of Junction City, KS; his two daughters – Breanna Marie Bieganski and Caitlin Bieganski both living in Meadville with their mother -Tami Caldwell Bieganski; a brother – William Bieganski and his wife, Winona of Wexford, PA; a sister – Sharon K. Negron and her husband, Angel of Cochranton; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral services will be privately held on Wednesday with Reverend Fr. Mark O’Hern, pastor of St. Brigid Catholic Church in Meadville, officiating. Committal services with full military honors will be in Cambridge Springs Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Crawford Unit, 464 Pine St., Meadville, PA 16335-2975.
