Wolfgang Blank, age 80, of 11393 Peach Street, Waterford, died Sunday, August 17, 2008 at Edinboro Manor where he had resided for the past month. Born in Porto Alegre, Brazil on March 3, 1928, he was a son of the late Gustav and Anna Blank.
Blank, WolfgangHaving grown up in Brazil and Germany, he was educated at the University in Weimar, Germany where he received a degree in Mechanical Engineering. For several years he worked as a Production Manager and Assistant Director at S.A. Phillips of Brazil. Upon moving to the United States in 1956, he was employed by American Sterilizer, in Erie and overseas, primarily as a Research and Development Administrator. He worked there until his retirement in 1993. In his leisure time, he enjoyed gardening.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Irmgard Lips Blank; and two sisters, Lordis Renee Feltham and Marianna Blank.
Survivors include his second wife, Jane M. Blank; a daughter, Carin Trabout and her husband, Marshall of Ithaca, NY; two sons, Brian Blank and his wife, Laura of New York, NY, and Stephen A. Blank of Boston, MA; a brother, Heinz Dieter Blank of Brazil; and a sister, Christina Ohrwaschel of Munich, Germany.
