Robert E. Bundy, age 69, resident of 22474 Plank Road, Venango, PA died Monday, August 11, 2008 at Golden Living Center, Cambridge Springs. Born on August 5, 1939 in the Wasson Hospital in Cambridge Springs, he was a son of the late Fay Bundy and Zetta Irene Johnson Bundy. He lived all of his life in the Woodcock, Cambridge Springs, and Venango areas.
After graduating from Cambridge Springs High School in 1957, Robert enlisted in the US Armywhere he served three years as a medical specialist. In 1963 he began a truck driving career and worked for a number of trucking firms including Rowley Interstate, Pacific International Express, which became Ryder Truck Lines, and Frank Tucci Trucking in Cambridge Springs. His last employment was with US Bulk of Cochranton from 1994 until his retirement in 2001. Beginning in 1986 and continuing until his retirement he drove his red Kensworth tractor trailer. He drove truck for well over a million miles and was known for his CB handle “Blue Devil”. His past times were spent hunting, trapping along French Creek, and fishing in Canada. He enjoyed lawn care, woodworking and cutting fire wood for his home.
Surviving Robert is his soul mate and companion of 18 years, Jane Sanner and her children – Doug Sanner and his wife, Melissa of Cambridge Springs and their children – Alan, Brandon, and Katie; Nancy Sanner Kruse and her husband, Dann of Raleigh, NC; Linda Sanner of Cranseville; and Suzanne Sanner of Cambridge Springs. Also three daughters – Kimberly Bundy of Waterford; Bobbi Joe Mott of Venango and her children – McKenzi, Crystalyn, and Kevin of Venango; and Angie Bundy of Waterford and her children – Amanda and Darian. Additional survivors include a sister-Myrna Mitchell and her husband, Merritt of Cambridge Springs; and a sister-in-law – Elsamae Bundy of Venango; He was preceded in death by two brothers – George Bundy and Charles Bundy; two sisters – Juanita Landers and Margaret Winnale; and his former wife, Audrey Bundy of Cambridge Springs.
Friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on Thursday from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be private with interment in Millers Station Cemetery.
