Doris A. Daman, age 87, formerly of Warren, NJ, died October 20, 2008 at Forestview Skilled Nursing Center in Erie. Born in Chicago, IL on April 27, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Lester E. and Helen Verna Blish Dayment.
Mrs. Daman was a longtime librarian at the Warren Township Public Library in Warren, NJ and lived most of her life there until moving to Erie, three years ago to be near her son, Malcolm R. Daman of Waterford, PA. Other survivors include four grandchildren and a half-brother, James Dayment of Austin, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis F. Daman.
I volunteered at the Warren Library for years and worked with Doris. We were both in the Warren Woman’s Club before is was disbanded.
We were both interested mysteries and American Indian things, and I am so sorry she and Lou never got to retire where they scoped out in the west for many years.
My condolences to the family she left behind.
