Stella M. Hall, age 91, a resident of Bartlett Gardens in Cambridge Springs for the past 11 years and formerly of Washington Valley, died Friday, November 28, 2008 at Millcreek Community Hospital. Born in Meadville on December 31, 1916, she was a daughter of the late John Glenn and Diana Johnson Lesher. She married Edgar C. Hall on November 20, 1938, and he preceded her in death on March 4, 1996.
Hall, Stella M.Stella was a homemaker who enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a graduate of Meadville High School and a past member of Our Lady of the Springs Rebekah Lodge, formerly of Cambridge Springs. As an member of Washington Valley Christian Church, Stella was active in the life of the church including teaching Sunday School for over 30 years, and participating in Bible School.
In addition to her husband Edgar, she is preceded in death by her son Stephen A. Hall, an infant grandson, and her twin brothers Harry and Walter Lesher.
Survivors include two daughters, Judith Ann Peters and her husband David of Edinboro, and Rita Rozanne Hester and her husband Donald of McKean; three sons, Robert Edgar Hall and his wife Clara Mae of Erie, Terry Lee Hall and his wife Patricia of Lovettsville, VA, and Jerry Ray Hall and his wife Cheryl of Albion; also, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a sister Marian Sheakley of Saegertown, and a step-brother Tom Greene and his wife Violet of Erie.
Friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home, 306 Erie Street, Edinboro on Monday from 1:00pm until time of the funeral service at 2:00pm. Rev. Duane Pinney of Washington Valley Christian Church will officiate. A private burial will follow at Mitchell Cemetery.
