Michael Joseph Walk, III, age 56, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at Meadville Medical Center, Meadville, PA. A resident of 8812 Essex House, Golf View Manor, Meadville, PA., he had lived in Meadville for most of his life. Born on April 10, 1952 in Meadville, PA, he was a son of the late Michael J. Walk, Jr. and Rose Mary Dietz Walk. On May 30, 1992 he married the former Linda Sue Thomas and she survives.
A graduate of Meadville High School, Michael worked at various jobs in Meadville, the last employment being at Meadville Medical Center in the kitchen department. Four years ago he took disability retirement after having worked there for 15 years. While in better health Michael enjoyed hunting. Confined to his home because of health, he enjoyed having tropical fish. He also enjoyed feeding song birds in his yard. Michael was courageous with a strong inner strength and remained calm and patient as he faced difficult health challenges. He loved his wife and grandchildren very much.
Surviving family members include his wife and two daughters – Annette Schenberg and her husband, Michael of Titusville and Amy Boylan and her husband, Robert of Conneautville; four grandchildren – Scott Schenberg; Kirstie Schenberg; Cassidy Boylan; and Blake Boylan; a sister – Cindy Walk of Saegertown; a brother – Robert Walk and his wife, Dorothy of Meadville; 3 nieces and 1 nephew.
Friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on Friday from 7-9 and are invited to attend funeral services there Saturday afternoon at 2:00. Reverend Rod Beardsley, pastor of the Cambridge Springs First Baptist Church in Cambridge Springs will officiate. Interment will be in Millers Station Cemetery.
