Martha Harriet Blanchard Boylan, age 93, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 4, 2009, at the home of her daughter Linda, 571 Chestnut Street, Apt. 16B, Meadville, PA. Mrs. Boylan passed away after a short illness surrounded by her loving family. She had been a lifelong resident of the Cambridge Springs area. Born on June 13, 1915, in Northeast, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Prescott Elmo Blanchard and Leah Taylor Blanchard. She married William Edward Boylan on June 26, 1931 and he preceded her in death on September 4, 1996. Mrs. Boylan last worked at the Cambridge Springs Elementary School in the late 1960’s. Previously, in the late 1950’s, she owned and operated with her son, Joe, the Donut Shop in Cambridge Springs. She was affiliated with the New Beginnings Church of God in Meadville.

Boylan and his wife, Bonnie of Cambridge Springs; two daughters – Mrs. Nancy L. Terrill and her husband, Clarence “Chet” of Meadville; Linda L. Brown of Meadville; twenty-eight grandchildren – Gary Boylan, Robert Boylan, Michael Boylan, Jeffrey Boylan, Sally Gingerich, Debbie Shearer, Lisa Aispuro, Chris Boylan, Doug Bradshaw, Terry Terrill, Edward Terrill, Kim Rhodes, Tina Petrilli, Rick Boylan, Donald Boylan, Laurie Baer, Shari Ewing, William Boylan, Joey Boylan, Stephen Boylan, Kylie Boylan, Cindy Newell, Bonnie Colvin, Stevan Stump, Stacy Stump, Scott Stump, Martha Haregsin, and Melissa Gawlinski; fifty-two great grandchildren; sixteen step great grandchildren; thirty-one great, great grandchildren; six step great, great grandchildren; and a half brother – Dennis Blanchard and his wife, Jean of Silver Springs, MD. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceding Martha in death were two infants – Leah and John; a son – Edward A. Boylan, who died in in 2005; a daughter – Elizabeth “Zib” Stump, who died in 2001; a great great grandson – Colby Boylan; and a great grandson – Richard Moore.
Friends are invited to call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on Wednesday, January 7th from 2-4 and 7-9 and are invited to attend funeral services there on Thursday at 2:00 p.m.
Interment will take place in Cambridge Cemetery.
