C. Robert ????uck???? Bisbee, age 74, died at his residence, 20103 Gospel Hill Road, Saegertown, PA on Friday, February 27, 2009 after an illness of four months. He was surrounded by his loving wife and family. Born on April 10, 1934 in Cambridge Springs, PA, he was a son of the late Clarence E. Bisbee and Irene Flick Bisbee and lived his entire life in the Venango area. On January 28, 1961 he married Betty Jean Black and she survives.
Bisbee, C. Robert After graduating from Cambridge Springs High School in 1952, Buck worked for several years and then entered the Armed Forces in 1957. He served with the US Army for two years until 1959. After becoming discharged he became employed at the Carnation Can Factory in Cambridge Springs (later becoming Silgan), working there for 30 years until his retirement in 1990. In his free time Buck enjoyed gardening and maintaining his yard. He also enjoyed hunting and was particularly fond of his dog, Abby.
Family survivors in addition to his loving wife , Betty, include four children – Linda Martin and her companion, Craig Lohrer of Saegertown; Gary Bisbee and his wife, Sue of Meadville; Bob Dunton and his wife, Tammy of Saegertown; and Janice Thayer and her husband, Greg of Cambridge Springs; two sisters – Donna Bish of Conneautville and Debra Fries and her husband, Richard of Coneaut Lake. Included also are six grandchildren – Valerie Porter, Scott Winsor, Steve Winsor, Tyler Dunton, Kyle Dunton and Matthew Martin; two great grandchildren – Ashlee Porter and Michael Porter; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding in death in addition to his parents was an infant son.
Friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 and are invited to attend funeral services there on Tuesday morning at 11:00. Reverend Larry Corner, pastor of the Venango United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will take place in Gravel Run Cemetery. The family suggests that memorial gifts be made to
