Edna Ruth Bunce, age 81, resident of 12250 Route # 6, Corry, PA, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, February 19, 2009 at Corry Memorial Hospital.
Edna was born in Venango, Crawford County, PA on March 6, 1927, a daughter of the late Morton Harrison Peters and Sarah Fitch Peters. She married Frank M. Bernosky, Sr. on August 21, 1945 and he preceded her in death on December 17, 1966. She subsequently married Richard A. Bunce in 1970.
Bunce, Edna RuthA homemaker, Edna enjoyed her family and friends. She loved her Lord and also enjoyed Gospel music. With a gift of a great sense of humor, Edna enjoyed living life.
Family members surviving Edna include a daughter – Sheila White and her husband, Larry of Venango; two sons – Mark Bernosky and his wife, Debbie of Corry and Frank Bernosky and his wife, Nancy of San Antonio, TX and her former husband, Richard A. Bunce of Centerville. She is also survived by a brother Richard Peters; four grandchildren – Larry White, Lisa Wade, Joshua Bernosky, Nicole Kent; two step grandchildren – Tony Huffman and Mike Huffman; nine great grandchildren – Lauren Wade, Alyssa Kent, Kyleigh Kent, Maydison Kent, Katie Eggleston; Brayden Kent; Kimberly Huffman, Deanna Huffman, and Chad Huffman. In addition, Edna considered a little neighbor child, Alexis Loveland, as one of her special friends.
Preceding Edna in death in addition to her husband, Frank, were four sisters – Mildred Perkins, Alice Perkins, Helen Bayus, and Betty King and five brothers – Donald Peters, Arthur Peters, Robert Charles Peters, Kenneth Peters, and Frank Peters.
Friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral services will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday morning at 10:00 with Reverend John Zimmerman, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Corry, officiating. Interment will be in Venango Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
