Mary Margaret Crawford Manafo, age 80, of Edinboro, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 29, 2009 at Pleasant Ridge Manor West in Girard. Born in Erie on June 28, 1928, she was a daughter of the late William John and Annie Williamson Crawford.
Manafo, Mary Margaret CrawfordMary graduated from Wesleyville High School and went to work for General Telephone in Erie. On November 14, 1947 she married the love of her life, Anthony J. Manafo, and together they have been married over 61 years. For many of those years, Mary and her husband lived in Fort Lauderdale, FL and owned and operated Formark Communications and Consulting Development Company. She primarily served as secretary and assisted her husband and son in the management of the company before retiring in 1980 and moving to Edinboro.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Everyone knew her as “Grammy” and she did nothing more than live for her family and friends. Mary would not let any guest go hungry and if you were in need of a laugh, she was the one to see. Her outgoing and loving personality would always turn a frown into a smile–she was loved by everyone who knew her.
Mary was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, William and Anna Crawford of Belfast, Ireland; and a sister and brother-in-law, Nancy Ann Crawford Goodenow and her husband, C. Dale Goodenow of Florida.
