Robert George Marzka, age 55, lifelong resident of 29727 Hogback Road, Cambridge Springs, PA died unexpectedly of a heart attack at his home. He was pronounced deceased at the Meadville Medical Center emergency room. Born in Meadville, PA on May 18, 1954, he is the son of Vera Irene Anderson Marzka and the late George Marzka. On May 6, 1983 he married the former Adrienne Roeback and she remains as his loving wife.
After graduating from Cambridge Springs High School in 1972, Robert attended Edinboro University and received a BS degree in biology. He also attended college in Colorado receiving credits in animal husbandry. Following college, Robert returned to the family dairy farm in Rockdale Township and there he worked very hard, seldom leaving for any other outside interest. He presently was a Rockdale Township Supervisor, a position he held for four terms. In the past he had been involved with the 4-H program. For relaxation, Robert play golf at the Riverside Golf Course.
Leaving behind to mourn his loss in addition to his wife, Adrienne, of 26 years, and his mother, Vera Irene Marzka of Cambridge Springs are seven children – Emily Nolan (serving in the US Air Force) and her husband, Brett both of Bonaire, GA; Megan Marzka of Charlotte, NC; Kelley Marzka of Erie; and Kyle Marzka, Lee Marzka, and Tyler Marzka, and Kirsten Marzka all living at home. Robert is also survived by a brother – Allen Marzka and his wife, Rose of Cambridge Springs.
Friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Cambridge Springs with Monsignor Lawrence Speice, pastor of the church as celebrant. Interment will take place on the family farm. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made directly to the family.
