Jean Marie Ball, age 59, died at her residence, 13611 Dorman Road, Waterford, PA on Friday, June 12, 2009 following a period of failing health. Born on September 27, 1949 in Union City, PA, she was a daughter of the late Luther Davis and Leona Field Davis. Jean married Clifford Arnold Ball on August 18, 1979.
A home maker, Jean was a very supportive and compassionate person, was a good listener and was a confidante to many. Her family was all important to her and she oriented her life around them. She was an avid bowler and had served as secretary treasurer for the Friday Misfits League in Cambridge Springs and as secretary for the Women’s League at LeBoeuf Lanes in Waterford.
Preceding Jean in death was an infant son. Family remaining to mourn her loss in addition to her husband, Clifford, include three daughters – Bobbie Jean Gilson of Waterford; Jodie McCutcheon and her husband, Paul of Ripley, NY; and Melanie Windsor and her husband, Ken of Waterford; three brothers – Charles Davis and his wife, Karen of Waterford; James Davis of Waterford; and Gary Davis and his wife, Mary of Corry; four sisters – Patricia Slayton of Cambridge Springs; Maxine Antoniak of Meadville; Linda Hammond and her husband, Jim of Meadville; and Becky Corry and her husband, Rick of Youngsville, NC. Also surviving are ten grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 and are invited to attend funeral services there on Monday at 10:00 a.m. Reverend Duane Pinney, pastor of Washington Valley Christian Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Venango Cemetery.

Becky and I have spoken about Jean and her family. We have only known Becky for a short while and she is a great friend and a loving sister to her family. I am so glad Becky went to see Jean before her passing. Jean is resting now . My prayers are with the entire family . May God bless everyone !
