Paul V. McGinnett, age 72, of 636 Benson Road, Waterford, died suddenly on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at Saint Vincent Health Center. Born in Shippenville, PA on October 19, 1936, he was a son of the late John and Treva Strawbridge McGinnett.
For most of his working years, Paul was an auto mechanic employed mostly by Frank Lewis’ Garage and Cunningham Chrysler, both in North East. He also drove truck for Republic Water Heater and lastly worked at Electric Materials of North East for about 15 years until 1995 when he retired due to disability. He was a veteran of the US Army and was a member of the Siebenbuerger Club. Paul was a very outgoing person who tended to be the life of the party and therefore had many friends. In addition to working on and restoring old vehicles, he also enjoyed fishing, camping, ATV’s, and watching auto racing.
He is preceded in death by a son, Frank McGinnett, and two brothers, Charles Lee and Edward McGinnett.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Edna Brown McGinnett; five children: Paul McGinnett and his wife Jane of Ball Ground, GA, Steven McGinnett of Harborcreek, Tamara Dodd and Lisa McGinnett, both of Canton, GA, and Brian McGinnett of North East; three step-children: Donald Farnham and wife Susan of Richmond, VA, Christina Hovis and husband Chuck of North East, and Michelle DeJesus and husband Julito of Dunkirk, NY; also, ten grandchildren, a brother, Robert McGinnett of Saegertown, and three sisters, Pat, Mary and Ruth.
Friends may call at the Van Matre Funeral Home of Waterford, 105 Walnut Street, on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held there Saturday morning at 11:00am officiated by Mr. Jami Woodworth, an elder of the Union City Kingdom Hall. Burial will follow at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.

So sorry to learn of your husbands passing. May the Lord bring comfort and strength with each new day and challenge. I’m sure you have many fond memories of Paul that will bring a smile.
