Christopher Michael James Pentycofe, age 26, resident of 29409 Bell Road, Waterford, PA died Monday, August 10, 2009 as a result of a one motor vehicular accident occurring near his home in Erie County. Born on August 5, 1983 in Erie, PA, he was a son of Peter Douglas Pentycofe and Carole Bronakoski Pentycofe.
Following graduation from Cambridge Springs High School in 1992, Chris began employment with Tamarack Packaging of Meadville working there for three years. He then worked as a farm hand for Don Closky of Cambridge Springs for a year and for the last three years worked as a lathe operator for South Erie Production Company. Chris enjoyed riding his four-wheeler and he liked to hunt and fish. He was a good, all around fellow and will be sadly missed by all who came to know him.
Chris leaves behind in addition to both of his parents, a daughter – Mandy, now four years old; a brother – Greg Pentycofe of Cambridge Springs; two sisters – Cheryl Ferry and her husband, Don of Springboro; and Kim Erdely and her husband, Don of Cambridge Springs; two aunts – Andrea Simcheck and her husband, David of Cambridge Springs and Janice Bronakoski of Girard; and a nephew – Cody. An uncle – Howard Pentycofe, preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9. A graveside service will be held privately at the LeBoeuf Cemetery, Mackey Hill, Rockdale Twp., Crawford County on Friday.
A trust fund is being established for Mandy Pentycofe and memorial gifts may be given to the family for this purpose.
Carole I am so sorry for your loss. I have been searching social media and internet for you and your son Chris for literally years on and off. Not sure if my name rings a bell but you were our babysiiter/nanny when I was younger. I have such fond memories of you both and have been wanting to reconnect. I just came across this today and am shocked and very sad to read this about him! may he rest in peace
