Alton Wendal Throop, Jr., age 55, resident of 22830 Willow Road, Cambridge Springs, PA, died at Edinboro Manor, Edinboro on Monday, June 28, 2010. He had lived all of his life in Cussewago Township, Crawford County. Born on March 27, 1955 in Erie, PA, Alton was a son of Alton Throop, Sr. and the late Lydia Plavsity Throop.
A graduate of Cambridge Springs High School in the Class of 1976, Alton remained at home and enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing cards, and watching sports.
In addition to his father with whom he lived, Alton is survived by a brother – Terry Lee Throop and his wife, Sandy and their two children, Alexis and Dylan all of Edinboro; a sister – Rita Reed and her husband, Charles and their daughter, Robin Reed all of Meadville; a step sister – Cathy Gillespie and her husband, Jeff and their three children – Ryan, Megan, and Jared all of Erie. Several aunts and uncles also survive. Alton was particularly fond of his niece, Robin Reed, with whom he was very close.
Friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 and are invited to attend funeral services there on Friday morning at 10:00. Reverend Robert Fuller, pastor of Little Corners United Methodist Church, will officiate. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society, Crawford Unit, 464 Pine St., Meadville, PA 16335-2975.
So sorry to hear of Juniors passing. Extending our condolences to Uncle Al and his family. We love you and may Junior rest in peace, the peace he deserves for the life he spent here on earth.

Hey T. Throop, I am sooo sorry for the loss of your beloved brother. I will keep you and your entire family in my thoughts and prayers. I am sorry that I will not be there for the services.
