Walter Emil Gaber, age 87 of Waterford, died Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at his home. Born in Beaver Falls, PA on November 18, 1922, he was a son of the late George and Sara Fleischer Gaber.

Walter was a tool and die maker and a veteran of the United States Army. He graduated from Erie Tech High School.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Marcia Yard, and seven brothers and one sister. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Eleanor Lane Gaber; three children, Walter A. Gaber and his wife Jeanne of Erie, Emily Lamont and her husband Tom of Union City, and Alan Gaber and his wife Kathy of Fredonia, PA; also, five grandchildren and two brothers, Karl and Richard Gaber, both of Waterford.

A memorial service will be held at Asbury United Methodist Church, West 2nd Street, Waterford, on Saturday, July 24 at 11:00am. Pastor Dennis Fetter will officiate.
