Edward (Ed) E. Kindervater, age 68, resident of 23274 Gravel Run Road, Saegertown, PA, passed away Friday, December 17, 2010 with his family at his side at Meadville Transitional Care, Meadville Medical Center, Meadville, PA.
Born on November 28, 1942 in Meadville, PA, he was the son of the late Roy Kindervater and Margaret Urquart Kindervater. He married the former Audrey Pruskowski and she remains. He graduated from Meadville High School in 1962 and then served in the US Navy until 1966.
Ed was a meat cutter for more than 35 years and also ran a part time meat cutting business at his home. In later years he worked in maintenance for several businesses in the area. As a member of American Legion Post #381 in Cambridge Springs, he was active there as 2nd Vice President. He also was an associate member of Saegertown American Legion Post #205 and Sheffield VFW. Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing, and NASCAR racing. He especially enjoyed his hunting camp – “Shawnebuch” at Hearts Content his deer stand that his son built for him.
Surviving in addition to his loving wife of 43 years, Audrey, is a daughter – Kelly Kindervater at home; a son – Kurt Kindervater and his wife, Candi of Blooming Valley; and his most beloved twin grandchildren – Dixie and Ripley; five sisters – Lois Briggs, Carole Humes, Eleanor Anwer, Margaret (Buddy) Kindervater, and Emily Johnston as well as many nieces and nephews.
In accordance to Ed’s wished cremation has been chosen. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date to be announced. Memorial gifts may be made to the Children’s Fund, American Legion Post #381, 24642 State Hwy #408, Cambridge Springs, PA 16403.

Ed and I served together in the US Navy in New Foundland and he was a part of our wedding party in Oneida, New York in October 1966. I have very fond memories of the many months that Ed and I spent together in the Navy.
