Rocco Anthony Agostino Jr., age 79, of McKean, died Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Winter Haven Hospital in Florida. Born December 13, 1931 in Erie, PA, he was the son of the late Rocco A. and Cevera Mae Assunti Agostino. His wife, Carol Hinkson Agostino, whom he married June 7, 1952, survives.
A graduate of Tech Memorial High School in 1951, Rocco served with the 82nd Airborne Paratrooper Division at Fort Bragg, NC. For 35 years, he owned and operated Grand Auto Sales in Erie, and after retiring, he worked for Corwin Construction in McKean for several more years. Rocco and his wife enjoyed traveling to Florida to spend their winters in Winter Haven, and he also enjoyed flying remote control airplanes and golfing.
Rocco is survived by his wife of almost 59 years, Carol Hinkson Agostino; three daughters: Roxanne M. Garfield and her husband Brian of Fairview, Vicki L. Hurst and her husband Bryan of Waterford, and Tracy L. Lorei and her husband Roger of Erie; three grandchildren: Heather Finchio, Joshua Lican, and Daniel Lican and his wife Stephanie; three great-grandchildren: Tyler, Camden and Aiden Lican; and a brother, Vincent Agostino and his wife Martha of Erie, and a sister, Theresa Kierzek and her husband Ken of Erie.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
