Floyd George Shaw, age 74, resident of 18745 Grange Center Road, Saegertown, PA, died Thursday, January 20, 2011 at his home after a long illness. He was a lifelong resident of the Saegertown area.
Born on September 22, 1936 in Meadville, PA, he was a son of the late Floyd Arthur Shaw and Grace Viola Bowes Shaw. On September 24, 1957 he married the former Barbara E. Pardee and she survives. After graduating from Cambridge Springs High School, Class of 1956, Floyd began working in construction and was also employed with the Pennsylvania Game Commission at the Linesville Fish Hatchery. In addition, he worked at Lake View Forge of Erie and Meadville Forge, retiring in 1993. Floyd was a long term member of Construction Union Labor Union #603 of Erie. He enjoyed working on cars and spending time outdoors – especially sighting deer. He was particularly fond of his little dog, Buffy.
Family members surviving Floyd in addition to his wife, Barbara Pardee Shaw, include three daughters – Cathy Reilly and her husband, Mike of Barberton, Ohio; Donna Worley of Saegertown; and Susan Shaw of Saegertown and her boy friend, Nick Tanner of Springboro. Also surviving are two brothers – Edward Shaw and his wife, Chrissie of Chapmanville and Arthur Shaw and his wife, Rose of Meadville; and several nieces and nephews, cousins and one aunt. He was preceded in death by a grandson – Daniel Worley; a son-in-law Paul Worley; a brother-in-law – Edward Pardee; and an infant brother – Robert Shaw.
Friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 and are invited to attend funeral services there on Tuesday, January 25th at 2:00 p.m. Officiating will be Rev Mark Eberly, Heartland Hospice Chaplain. Interment will be in Saegertown Cemetery.

So sorry to hear about Floyd. I worked with him a number of years and I can tell you he was “one of the GOOD guys”.I have a few cute stories I could tell about him.I have at times thought of Floyd over the past years.
