Maybelle Marie Woolstrum Brown, age 79, resident of Erie, PA since 1989 and formerly of North Ridgeville, Ohio, died Friday, March 4, 2011 at Crawford County Care Center, Saegertown, PA several days after her admission there. Born on July 28, 1931 in Cambridge Springs, PA, Maybelle was a daughter of the late Charles Rodney Woolstrum and Marie Augustina Rodemaker Woolstrum. She married William Earl Brown on August 14, 1952 and he survives.

Brown, Maybelle Marie WoolstrumMaybelle graduated from Cambridge Springs High School in 1949 and dedicated herself to providing a loving home for her family. She enjoyed playing the piano, was an excellent quilter, and an avid gardener of flowers. She also enjoyed craft work, especially making dolls.

Surviving Maybelle in addition to her husband, William, who now resides at Pleasantview Manor East in Erie, is a son – Rodney William Brown and his wife Susan of Saegertown; three step grandchildren – Sanya Tiambeng, Charles Frame, Jr, and Timothy Schauss; eight great grandchildren – Michael, Megan, and Matthew Tiambeng; Joshua, Nathan, and Abigail Frames; and Debi and Katarina Schauss. In addition, Maybelle is survived by a sister – Wanda Boyd and her husband, Don of Waterford; and two brothers – Duane Woolstrum and his wife, Loretta of Cambridge Springs and David Woolstrum and his wife, Dell of Gastonia, NC. A brother – Rodney Charles Woolstrum, preceded Maybelle in death.

Friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and are invited to attend funeral services there on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Reverend John Miller, pastor of the New Ireland United Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Cambridge Cemetery.
