Marjorie (Marge) Smock Hoch Rohloff, age 85 of Edinboro, died Monday, March 21, 2011 at Edinboro Manor. Born November 11, 1925 in Albion, she was a daughter of the late Arnold and Velma Robertson Smock.

Rohloff, Marjorie (Marge) Smock HochMarge was a 1944 graduate of Albion High School. She married Michael Hoch and together they operated three businesses- Hoch Bros. Red & White Store in Albion in the 1940’s, and two businesses in Crossingville- Hoch’s Snack Bar and Hoch Builders Supply.

For 35 years, she lived in Hollywood, FL and was married to her second husband, Captain Frederick Rohloff of the Hollywood Police Department. He preceded her in death on June 9, 1992.

Marge was a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the former Conneautville Chapter. Most importantly, she was a caring and fun-filled mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Surviving her is a daughter, Margie Peterman of Crossingville and her children: Brian Peterman, his wife Sandra and their son Drake, of Meadville; Jill Morgan, her husband Thomas and their children, Madison, Kyla, and Chloe, of Conneautville; and Todd Peterman, his friend Jenifer Schreck, and his daughter Mariah, of Meadville. She is also survived by a brother, Howard Smock, and two sisters, Helen Caldwell and Maxine Peckham, all of Albion; a brother-in-law, Arnold Tobin, and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Tobin, both of Cranesville; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and both her husbands, Marge was preceded in death by four sisters and a brother: Josephine Lopez, Norma Tobin, Winifred Koch, Vivian Heyl, and Robert Smock; and a son-in-law, L.G. Peterman.

Friends and family may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home, 306 Erie Street, Edinboro on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be there Friday morning at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Rev. Dr. Ronald Sheldon of Cornerstone Baptist Church of Cussewago Township. Burial will be in Venango Cemetery.
