Homer Fred Zilhaver, age 79, of Cambridge Springs, PA, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2011 at Cambridge Springs Nursing and Rehab Center where he had resided for over three years. He was born in Cambridge Springs on November 7, 1931, a son of the late Martin and Gladys P. Kelly Zilhaver. Before residing at the Nursing and Rehab Home, he had lived his entire life on the family farm on Miller Hill, Cambridge Springs where he enjoyed helping to care for the cows and driving the tractors.
Preceding Homer in in addition to his parents were all of his aunts and uncles, several cousins and three brothers – Park Zilhaver and his wife, Marjory; Elmer Zilhaver; and an infant brother. Homer is survived by three nieces – Monique Doubet and her husband, Paul and their daughter -Bobbi of Cambridge Springs; Chantelle Zilhaver of Cambridge Springs; Melinda Garner and her husband, Louis and their children – Lyndsey and Rustin all of Ridgeway. Also surviving is a nephew – Lorin Zilhaver and his wife, Karen and their children – Carrie and Park of Venango; a sister-in-law – Carol Zilhaver of Cambridge Springs. Additionally, there are many cousins including – Alton Zilhaver, Rex Wellman, and Wylda Cole who were faithful visitors.
The family wishes to thank the staff at the Nursing and Rehab Home for the wonderful care Homer received while he was a resident there.
Graveside services will be held at Miller Station Cemetery, Rockdale Township on Friday, April 22nd at 2:00 p.m.
