Thelma Kay Andrews, age 71, of 22267 Birchard Road, Cambridge Springs, PA passed into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father suddenly at UPMC Hamot, Erie on Monday, June 20, 2011 from complications from surgery.
Kay was born in Titusville, PA on April 7, 1940, the daughter of the late Robert Wagner and Mable Murphy Wagner. She graduated from Cambridge Springs High School in 1958. As well as being a devoted wife and mother of five adoring children, Kay was employed by Penncrest School District for 20 years. She began working in the Cambridge Springs Elementary School cafeteria and later worked there as a dedicated aide to special needs children. She retired in 2000. Kay enjoyed her weekly trips to the casino where she always planned to “win big”. One of her favorite hobbies was “yard sale-ing”. In addition, she was fond of doing arts and crafts and reading. She was known by all as a generous, loving friend who was a champion of the underdog.
Surviving Kay is a large, loving family including her husband -Tom Andrews, whom she married June 30, 1962; five children – John Andrews and his wife, Tracey of Peoria, AZ; Susan Repasky and her husband, William of Fort Collins, CO; Mike Andrews and his wife, Teresa of Cambridge Springs; Tom James Andrews and his wife, Laurel of Cambridge Springs; and Jill Kingston and her husband, Mark of Glenrock, WY. Additionally, she leaves behind ten grandchildren who affectionately knew her as “Lu” – Riley Andrews; Ethan Andrews; Andrew Repasky; Alexandria Black and her husband, Jeremy; Maddison Repasky; McKennah Repasky; Megan Andrews; Matthew Andrews; Maria Moreland; and Marley Andrews. Kay is also survived by a brother-in-law – Lawrence Wagner of PA; a sister – Susan Davis and her husband, Mike, of Florida; her foster mother – Anne McCabe of AZ; her foster brother – Bill McCabe and his wife, Cindy of AZ; her mother-in-law – Bertha Andrews of Cambridge Springs; two sisters-in-law – Alice Kingsley of Cambridge Springs and Jeanette Fitch of Townville; and many nieces , nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and many life-long devoted friends.
Kay was preceded in death in addition to her parents – Robert and Mable Wagner; by an infant grandson – Thomas Andrews, Jr; four brothers – Donald, Jake, Thomas, and James Wagner; two sisters -Ruth Ann Salem and Peggy Salem; and her father-in-law – John Andrews.
A memorial service will be held at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on July 14th, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Cambridge Cemetery. The family suggests that memorial gifts be made to Women’s Services, 204 Spring Street, Meadville, PA 16335.

Tom – I was so sorry to hear of Kay’s sudden death. I am so glad she came to the last get together of our class and enjoyed it so much. We were such god friends in high school – I have many good memories to keep forever.

Kay made a big difference in my life everyday…..I had the pleasure of working with her and becoming a good friend. I will miss my friend for she always had a kind word about me . I will treasure the many conversations we had and the many items from her garden that she shared. I have been so blessed by Kay and her family , thank you Kay for being such a wonderful person in my life.
