Donna Marie Bond, age 72, of 17375 Mercer Road, Townville, PA, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, June 27, 2011 after a short battle with cancer. Born on February 21, 1939 in Cochranton, PA, Donna was a daughter of the late Jack Rafferty and Grace Hoffman Rafferty. She married Robert Clifford Bond on August 24, 1957 and he preceded her in death on February 1, 1980.
Raised in Cochranton, she attended the Cochranton schools and after her marriage established a loving home as a home maker for her family. She enjoyed quilting and gardening. She also had great pleasure at both the Cambridge Springs and Canadohta Lake Senior Citizens Centers where she had many friends.
Preceding Donna in death in addition to her parents and husband was a son – Stanley Bond and two brothers – David Rafferty and Don (Tubb) Hoffman. Surviving Donna are four sons – Clifford Bond and his wife, Deb of Cambridge Springs; Dalton Watt Bond, Sr. and his wife, Ruth of Townville; and Jerry Bond of Townville; Her surviving grandchildren are – Marlena Moyer and her husband, Alan; Robert Bond; Sam Britton; Lillian Bond; Tad Bond; Donna Dennis and her husband, Kory; Dalton Bond, Jr; Lucille Castile and her husband, Jamie; and Melissa Peirsel and her husband, Matt. Also surviving are sixteen great grandchildren; a brother – Edward Rafferty and his wife, Candy and a sister-in-law Opal Hoffman.
There is no local visitation or funeral service. Visitation and funeral will be provided by the Globe Funeral Home in Olive Hill, KY. Burial will follow at the Hale Cemetery in Olive Hill, KY. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial gifts be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 1645 8th Street, Erie, PA 16505.
