Blodwen I. (Blondie) Anderson, age 88 of Edinboro, died peacefully Friday afternoon, July 22, 2011 at Edinboro Manor. Born in Franklin Township on March 30, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Edna Pulling Lewis. On March 3, 1941 she married Ray L. Anderson and he preceded her in death on June 13, 1999.
Blondie was a believer in Jesus Christ and lived her life as a testimony to His goodness and faithfulness. For many years, she and her husband served and supported the mission of McLane Church and they volunteered at Miracle Mountain Ranch in Springcreek, PA. Even in her last years, Blondie continued to host her small group Bible study at her home and enjoyed the company of friends while studying the Word of God.
As a young housewife and mother, Blondie found time to serve as the Franklin Township Justice of the Peace from 1958-72; she worked in the Edinboro University Bookstore from 1964-77; and she operated an Antique Shop for many years.
Family members that survive include three daughters, Almeda M. Ellis and her husband Dale of Edinboro, LouRae D. Jones and her husband Archie of The Colony, TX, and Robin S. Hutson and her husband Willie of Flower Mound, TX; 5 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home, 306 Erie Street, Edinboro on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be at McLane Church, 12511 Edinboro Road, Edinboro on Tuesday morning at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Pastor Brian Kelly. Burial will follow at McLane Cemetery, Washington Township.
