David Edward Blewett, age 20 of Waterford, died Monday, July 11, 2011, as the result of a car accident in Waterford Township. He was born on December 7, 1990, the son of Brian Edward Blewett and Tammie Renea Clawson Ruckman, both of Waterford.

Blewett, David EdwardDavid graduated from Fort LeBoeuf High School in 2009, and had worked for NAPA Auto Parts, and most recently as a technician at Davis Auto Service in Waterford. David enjoyed hunting and archery, 4-wheeling with his truck, and having a good time with his friends. He will always be remembered for his great sense of humor, and for all the fun times he made with those who loved him. Many would agree that David had a special way of making his friends laugh.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, David and Maxine Clawson, and his great-grandparents, Harry and Virginia Ruckman and Dorras Blewett.

Along with his parents, David is survived by his step-parents, Tina Blewett and Harry Ruckman IV, and his six step-siblings: Harry Ruckman V, Elliott Ruckman, Hunter Ruckman, Ashley Nicholson, Tyler Szklenski, and Kaitlyn Szklenski. He is also survived by his grandparents: Ginger Ruckman of Fairview, Frank and Carol Blewett of Lake Elsinore, CA, Vern and Jean Flook of Waterford, and Harry III and Cheryl Ruckman of Waterford; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

David’s girlfriend, Savana Stephens, also died in Monday’s car accident, and calling hours will be observed for both of them on Thursday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the Van Matre Funeral Home, 105 Walnut Street, Waterford. A funeral service for David will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Andy Kerr of McLane Church officiating. Burial will follow at Waterford Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
