Kathleen M. Miller, age 71, of 1074 Old State Road, Waterford, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 24, 2011. Born in Washington Township on January 22, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Elwin and Nina Eastman Ryan Cole. She married Kenneth Leroy Miller on June 3, 1961, and he remains to mourn her loss.
Kathy was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her family was her number one priority and she cherished the years she spent babysitting her grandchildren. She grew up attending Draketown Christian Church in Edinboro and was a lifelong member. She served on the Church Board and the Sunday School Board, she belonged to the Ladies Aid Missionary Society, and she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir.
Years ago, Kathy worked at Elgin Electronics in Waterford, and then for about 12 years at Troyer Farms Potato Chips. Kathy had many interests including puzzles, watching football on TV and following Fort LeBoeuf High School football, watching NASCAR, quilting, and spending time at camp with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son Michael Kenneth Miller, and a brother Douglas Ryan.
Kathy’s family includes her husband of 50 years, celebrated just last month, Ken Miller; her three daughters: Renee Turi and husband Kim, Karen Mays and husband Jim, and Amy Fish and husband Larry, all of Waterford; seven grandchildren: Joshua Miller, Sara and Ben Turi, Lindsey and Luke Mays, and Collin and Caleb Fish; her brother Richard Ryan and his former wife Becky, of Waterford; her sister-in-law Pearl Ryan of Sheffield, PA; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Van Matre Funeral Home, 105 Walnut Street, Waterford on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be at Draketown Christian Church on Thursday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Pastor Ron Kennedy. Burial will follow at Draketown Cemetery.

I am so sorry to hear of Kathy’s passing. What a shock. I was at Mom’s when Arlene stopped before your fiftieth anniversary party. I remember all the good times we used to have at Draketown and Kathy’s always smiling face. She will be greatly missed by all. Please accept my condolences to you and all the family.

For over 30 years my family lived nextdoor to this wonderful lady. She was a very good friend as was her husband and girls. We are so sorry to hear of her passing at such a young age. I guess the Lord needed help in heaven. The entire family has our deepest sympathy.
