Pauline R. Wilmoth, age 90, long time resident of Cambridge Springs, PA, went peacefully to be with the Lord at Saint Vincent Health Center, Erie, PA on Wednesday, August 17th, 2011 after a brief illness, she was surrounded by her loving family.
Born on January 14, 1921 in West Hickory, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ray Shorts and Edith Sutley Shorts. A home maker, Pauline was a quiet, gentle, kind and generous person who loved her family very much. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and her beloved little dog, “Daisy”. She also enjoyed gardening, the out doors, and feeding the animals and birds. A special pleasure of hers was painting ceramics.
Pauline was preceded in death by her husband – Lester Wilmoth who died on November 26, 1977; a brother – Theodore Shorts; and two sisters – Eva Brown and Mildred Gerow. She is survived by her daughter – Linda Knight and her husband, William; three grandchildren – Brian Knight and his wife, Kitty; Lynne Knight; and Kris Knight and his wife, Beth. Also surviving are three great grandchildren – Brent Knight and his wife, Nicole; Kayla Knight and her fianc???, Jeff Wheeler, and Madalyn Knight all living in Cambridge Springs.
Honoring Pauline’s wishes, a burial ceremony will be held at Mitchell Cemetery with her immediate family present only. Memorial gifts may be made to the Crawford County Humane Society, 11012 Kennedy Hill Road, Meadville, PA 16335.
There are so many memories I had of Pauline from my child hood, as I spent much time there growing up with Linda. My one memory that sticks was the lunches she packed for us when i stayed the night …one was a tuna sandwich. wise potato chips and a coke .i think she started my addiction to Wise chips..She was truly a wonderful woman and it was a joy to know her…RIP Pauline and God Bless the Family
