Donna Louise Allen, age 53, resident of 196 Forest Street, Cambridge Springs, PA died Monday, October 3, 2011 at Meadville Medical Center from diabetes complications. Born on January 7, 1958 in Meadville, PA, Donna was a daughter of the late Gerald Edward Peterson and Evelyn Pierson Peterson. She married David Henry Allen on June 14, 1980 and he survives. She lived all of her life in the Cambridge Springs area.

Allen, Donna LouiseDonna attended Cambridge Springs High School and graduated from Crawford County Vo- Tech School with studies in food preparation. For many working years she was employed by Holiday Inn doing housekeeping. She also worked for several years as a nurse’s aide for Cambridge Springs Rehab and Nursing Center. Her main priority was being a home maker. While at home she loved helping raise children, both her own and other children entrusted to her.

Surviving Donna in addition to her husband, David, of 31 years, is a daughter – Kayla Allen and a son, Chris Allen, both at home. In addition, three sisters – Doris, Cheryl Jean, and Debra; and three brothers – Donald, Dan, and Edward survive. Likewise, Donna is survived by a step great nephew – Aaron and many nieces and nephews. Preceding Donna in death were two step sisters – Karen Hanes and Connie Hanes; a step brother – Fred LaLone; a step nephew and two step great nephews.

Friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. and are invited to attend funeral there on Friday at 10:00 a.m. Reverend Rod Beardsley, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Cambridge Springs will officiate. Interment will be in Millers Station Cemetery. Memorials may be made directly to the Allen family.
