James Michael Nuber, age 65 of Waterford, PA– “Our Genius” passed away early Tuesday morning, November 1, 2011 at his home. He was the son of the late Bernard R. and Anna D. Strieder Nuber.
Jim is survived by his wife Joann Carniewski Nuber; his son, Jeffrey Amandus Nuber, his wife Denise, their two daughters, Destinie and Shelbie, and two great-grandchildren, Nevaeh and Brooklyn, all of Zionsville, PA. Also surviving are two sisters, Janet A. Kaveney of Grove City, PA and Betsy J. Gildenston of Erie; a stepdaughter, Cindy McLaughlin and husband Michael and their children, Hannah, Grace, Jackson and Maura; a stepson, Joe Petty; a step-grandson, Gage Salusky; and many nieces and nephews. A sister, Dodi Draper of Fort Lauderdale, FL preceded him in death.
Jim, Jimbo, Jamie, Jimmie–all names he was known as by his many friends at General Electric, from his street rod family, his motorcycle group, camping, and from the Cross Creek RV Park in Arcadia, FL where he spent winters with his wife.
Upon graduation from Fort LeBoeuf High School in 1964, Jim entered the General Electric Apprentice Program and advanced in 37 years of diligent service until his retirement in March 2001. He was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Waterford.
Friends may call at the Van Matre Funeral Home, 105 Walnut Street, Waterford, on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral mass will be at All Saints Parish, 11264 Rt. 97 North, Waterford, on Friday morning at 10:00 am with Rev. Fr. Thomas Whitman officiating.

You left us to soon…i do know, however, that you are watching over us. You will be carried on in our hearts and minds. You were and still are an intelligent and creative man. Your inventions, creations, ideas, and humor will be missed. You are a great grandfather. We all know you are up in heaven inventing and creating new ways to alter and better it for us all to live one day. we will all be together again some day deep frying, eating, and cruising.
