Lois J. Clarkson, age 93, of 1422 Old State Road, Waterford, died at her home on Monday, January 30, 2012 after an extended illness. Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA on June 1, 1918, she was one of seven children of the late Jessie and Mary James. She married Robert E. Clarkson on October 15, 1942 and he preceded her in death on May 19, 2008.
Mrs. Clarkson was a homemaker who loved to cook and bake. She was a longtime faithful member of Draketown Christian Church in Edinboro where she enjoyed many friendships.
In addition to her husband, Robert, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Joseph Gaitaniella; a great-granddaughter, Lydia Ellen McKenzie; two brothers, Corey and Paul James; and two sisters, Dorothy Ruddick and Ruth Harris.
Family members include her daughter, Carol Ann Roberts and husband Charles, her son, Paul E. Clarkson and wife Gwen, all of Waterford; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Leah Dwyer of Woodbridge, VA and Betty James of Wilkes-Barre, PA.
Friends are invited to attend the funeral service at Draketown Christian Church, 12460 Draketown Road, Edinboro on Saturday morning at 10:00 am. Pastor Jim Hodge will officiate. Burial will be at the Clarkson Family Cemetery.

So sorry to hear of your loss. My Mother, Jenny Hummel, was a good friend of Lois when I was a little girl. Mom died at age 89. I have photos of myself, Paul and Carol having some sort of party. Maybe a birthday. I have fond memories of both Clarksons and of their farm, the black and white work horses and Belle. My deepest sympathy to all of you on the loss of your Mom. She was a lovely woman, very refined and pretty.
