Richard Leon Luce, age 71, lifelong resident of Cambridge Springs, PA, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Edinboro Manor, Edinboro, PA where he had been in care since September of 2011. Born in Cambridge Springs, PA on September 19, 1940, Richard was a son of the late Henry Emmons Luce and Natalie Waldo Davidson Luce. He married the former Sally Ann Colvin on November 29, 1968 and she survives.
Following his graduation from Cambridge Springs High School, Richard entered the US Army serving his country from 1961 until 1965. Following the service, Richard was employed as a machinist for Penn Brass and Copper of Erie for 18 years. Subsequently, Richard was employed by the Riverside Inn in Cambridge Springs as a night watchman. He retired in 2002.
In Richard’s free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends.
Preceding Richard in death in addition to his parents was a brother – Robert Luce and three sisters – Betty Schwab, June Gallant, and Marjorie Gosik. Family members surviving Richard include his wife – Sally, of 43 years; a son – Richard R. Luce and his wife, Lora; and two grandsons – Raymond and Brandon Bancroft all of North Carolina.
There are no calling or funeral services being planned. Memorial services for the family will be announced.
