Adrienne Celeste Riccomini, age 71 of McKean, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 2, 2012 following a short illness. Born in The Bronx, New York City on December 1, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Alfredo Riccomini and Flora Simi Riccomini.
After the death of her mother 25 years ago, Adrienne moved from New York City to Erie where she resided with her caregiver, Audrey Lemon. Adrienne enjoyed activities at Stairways and also at the Senior Center, both in Erie. She could often be found playing bingo, and occasionally winning which made her smile. She was a knitter, and liked crafts, reading, and listening to music.
Adrienne will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Her family includes two sisters– Ascania Mastroianni and her husband Joseph of Farmington, CT, and Rose Marie Gerbi and her husband Aldo of Trenton, MI; and a brother– Alfred P. Riccomini and his wife Esther of Edinboro. Adrienne was an aunt to 14 nieces and nephews, and a great aunt to 18 great nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home, 306 Erie Street, Edinboro on Friday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral services will take place there on Saturday morning at 11:00 am officiated by Rev. Gene Kennett. Interment will follow at Edinboro Cemetery.
The family suggests that memorial donations be made in Adrienne’s memory to the Interfaith Worship Center. Memorials will be collected at the funeral home.
