Edward J. Kohmanski, age 80, of Mill Village, died Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Edinboro Manor. Born in Union City, PA, on August 28, 1931, he was the son of the late Boleslaw and Louise Staszowski Kohmanski.

Kohmanski, Edward J.Ed and his late wife, Elizabeth, farmed for many years in LeBoeuf Township, and he was often known as the “squash, potato, and corn man on Flatt Road”. He also was a truck driver for many years and enjoyed his travels on the road. As a young man, Ed served in the Signal Corps of the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife and best friend, Elizabeth J. Mills Kohmanski, whom he married November 30, 1968, and who died November 13, 2011; also four sisters, Helen Brown, Blanche Kohmanski, Estelle Lucas, and Julia Duesler; and two nephews, Norman and William Duesler.

Ed is survived by six nieces and nephews: Earl Brown and wife Pat of Union City, Debbie Dudenhoefer and husband Mike of Edinboro, Kathi Myers, James Duesler and wife Diana, and Allen Duesler and wife Caroline, all from Northeast Ohio, and Sandra Crawford and husband Marshall from Texas.

Friends may call at the Van Matre Funeral Home, 105 Walnut Street, Waterford on Friday afternoon from 3:00 pm until time of the funeral service at 5:00 pm. Rev. Thomas Suppa from St. Teresa Roman Catholic Church in Union City will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, Ed?????s family requests memorial donations be made to the Mill Village Volunteer Fire Department.
