Charles Irvin Fuller, age 90, of Waterford, died Sunday, March 18, 2012 at his home. Born in Knoxdale, PA on November 17, 1921, he was one of 12 children of Adelbert and Maggie Jane Fenstmaker Fuller.

Fuller, Charles IrvinMr. Fuller grew up in Jefferson County on the family farm and joined the United States Army, serving from 1942-45 during World War II. He was stationed on many of the Aleutian Islands. After the war, he returned home and worked in the Pennsylvania coal mines and was married in 1947. He and his wife, Gladys E. Raybuck Fuller, moved to the Erie area in 1951 and have lived at their present home in McKean Township since 1954. Mr. Fuller worked at Erie Forge and Steel from 1951 until his retirement in 1986, and he was an avid hunter and fisherman.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters. Family members that survive include his wife, Gladys E. Fuller; four children- Charles William Fuller and his wife Bonnie of Lake City, Harold Eugene Fuller of Waterford, Roger Lee Fuller and his wife Lynda of Youngsville, PA, and Betty Ann Fuller of Waterford; also, a granddaughter, Susan Louise Fuller of Indiana, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at Van Matre Funeral Home, 105 Walnut Street, Waterford on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm and may attend the funeral service there Wednesday morning at 10:00 am. Rev. Barbara English of the McKean United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial with military honors will be at Valley Cemetery.
