William K. Osterberg Sr., age 85, of McKean, passed away Monday, March 12, 2012 in Brandon, FL, where he resided with his daughter. Born in McKean on December 31, 1926, he was a son of the late Arthur and Eva Soety Osterberg.
William served in the United States Army during World War II. He retired after working for many years with the Laborer’s Union Local 603. His interests included hunting, fishing and being outdoors in his woods.
Family members that preceded him in death include his wife, Ruth Helen Osterberg; a brother Norman Osterberg; and two sisters, Audrey Purcell and June Kuntz.
Survivors include his son, William K. Osterberg Jr. and his wife Liza of Lake City; his daughter, Gail Johnson and her husband Dave of Brandon, FL; his grandchildren- Ryan and Rebecca Osterberg of Pittsburgh, and Heather and Shawn Kimble of State College; his great-grandchildren- Morgan and Jacob Osterberg, and Lily Kimble; three brothers- Robert Osterberg and wife Joyce, Donald Osterberg and wife Pat, and Arthur Osterberg and companion Trisha; his sister, Autumn Little; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home, 306 Erie Street, Edinboro on Sunday from 2:00 pm until time of the funeral service at 3:00 pm with Rev. Tom Shelow officiating. Burial will be in Valley Cemetery.
