Lenville L. Strange, age 78, passed away at his home on Sunday, April 29, 2012 after a short illness. Born on June 17, 1933 in Clay City, KY, he was a son of the late Charley Strange and Maggie Hall Strange. For over 25 years Lenville was a molds maker for Erie Castings and for 18 years was part of his family owned business – the New Richmond Auction.
Over the years, Lenville was active in several sports organizations including Grandpa’s Bowling League and the Glenwood Thursday Night horseshoe pitching league. Both he and his wife were caregivers for the aging with the Domiciliary Care Program for over 40 years and Lenville received an award for his volunteerism with the Crime Victim Center. He was a lifetime member of the St. Mary’s Club in Erie and was a 23 year member of the Siebenburger Club in Erie.
Lenville was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by two sons – William Kruszewski and Michael Kruszewski, and many brothers and sisters from a family of twenty one.
Surviving Lenny is his wife – Mary Ann, whom he married December 22, 1964; his children – Wanda Ross and her husband, Bill of Erie; Duey Strange of Erie; Maggie Hinkle of Honolulu, HI; Margie Chatt and her husband, Skip of Erie; Tommy Strange and his wife, Debbie of Erie; Alex Kruszewski and his wife, Carol of Cambridge Springs; and Lenny Strange and his wife, Dot of Cambridge Springs. Also a brother-in-law – Bill Vogel of Harborcreek and a sister-in-law – Kay Dilimone of Florida and two brothers – Tom Strange of Albion and Harold Strange of KY together with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a daughter-in-law Jeannette Kruszewski of Brookeville, FL survive.
Friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 and are invited to attend funeral services there on Thursday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. Mr. Vernon Martin, pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in LeBoeuf Cemetery, Mackey Hill. In lieu of flowers, please consider giving your gifts to the family by way of the funeral home.
