Cathy Lynn Krise, age 55, resident of 402 South Main Street, Cambridge Springs, PA for the past three years and formerly of Rockdale Township, Crawford County and Edinboro, passed away on Sunday May 20, 2012 at Meadville Medical Center, Meadville, PA after a long illness. Born in Union City, PA on May 22, 1956, she was a daughter of the late Howard Frantz and Esther Baker Frantz. Cathy married Brian Krise on May 18, 1996 and he survives.
Following graduation from General McLane High School in 1974, Cathy began employment with the General McLane Elementary School first as a cook and later as a custodian. She worked there until 2009 when poor health caused her early retirement.
Her varied interests included crafting, writing poetry, traveling, cooking, reading (she enjoyed Steve King novels), and watching scary movies. Her greatest passion was for her son, Dakota, and providing a loving home for him as he matured into adulthood.
Besides her husband, Brian, and her son, Dakota, Cathy is survived by two half sisters – Alyssa Krise, at home and Lindsey Reiner of Cambridge Springs; three sisters – Carol Dalbec and her husband, Ron of Edinboro; Linda Tobin and her husband, Jerry of Edinboro; and Susan Hale and her husband, Bryan of McKean; and four brothers – H. Alan Frantz and his wife, Carol of Erie; Denny Frantz and his wife, Pat of Erie; Ricky Frantz and his wife, Karen of Erie; and Robert Frantz and his wife, Roxanne of Meadville. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
Preceding Cathy in death in addition to her parents was a nephew, Scott Dalbec.
Friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on Tuesday, May 29th from 6:00 until 8:00 when memorial services will begin at 8:00 p.m. Reverend Daren Barnett, assistant pastor of First Baptist Church in Cambridge Springs will officiate.

Brian, Linda and family, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I didn’t realize Cathy had been ill. I enjoyed having her and Ester and then you and her as tenants back in the day.
