Mildred “Midge” Frances Brawley, age 80, resident of 20635 Bechtold Road, Saegertown, PA, died Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Meadville Medical Center, Meadville, PA. Born on February 9, 1932 in Adamsville, PA, Midge was a daughter of the late Charles Brown and Gladys Lindsey Brown. She married Francis “Sunny” Brawley on October 10, 1969 and he survives.

Brawley, Mildred Following her education at Conneaut Lake High School, Midge was employed sequentially at Montgomery Ward in Meadville, the H.L. Moore Company in Cochranton, and the David Meade Inn in Meadville. In the early 1970’s, Midge owned and operated the Venango Hotel. She enjoyed flowers and bowling, belonging to a league in the 1980’s.

Midge was a member of the auxiliaries of Venango VFW Post #169 and Cambridge Springs American Legion Post #381.

Surviving Mildred is her husband of 43 years, Francis, and three stepdaughters – Rhonda Custard and her husband, Alan of Cochranton; Deborah Washington and her husband, Paul of Hampton, VA; and Sandra Young and her husband, David of Utica, PA; a stepson – James Brawley and his wife, Cyndi of Warren, PA; several step grand children and step great grandchildren. Preceding Midge in death, in addition to her parents, was a son, Robert Stainbrook.

Friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on Saturday, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 3:00. Interment will be in Venango Cemetery.
