Wanda E. Owens Kelly, age 85, of Waterford, died Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Rolling Fields Nursing Home in Conneautville, PA.

Kelly, Wanda E. OwensA lifelong resident of Waterford, Wanda was born there on June 19, 1927, the daughter of the late Leroy and Edna Skelton Lewis. She was primarily a homemaker, but she also worked for several years at Saint Vincent Medical Center as a housekeeper in the surgical ward. She enjoyed dancing, gardening, playing the piano, and she was a talented seamstress.

Wanda was a longtime member of the Waterford Church of the Nazarene. After moving in to Rolling Fields Nursing Home a few years ago, she joined their choir and was involved in many activities, along with helping to assist other residents.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard L. Owens Sr., who died December 3, 1962; her second husband, Robert Kelly, who died in April, 1995; a grandson, Daniel Owens who died in 1975; and two brothers and two sisters.

Wanda is survived by two sons– Lawrence Owens and his wife Linda of Tennessee, and Richard Owens Jr. of Indian Harbor Beach, FL; two daughters– Rosemary Keyes and husband Jim of Edinboro, and Betty Pangborn and husband Ray of Erie. Other family members include 8 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; two brothers– Frank Lewis and wife Shirley of North East, and Leroy Lewis of Texas; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Van Matre Funeral Home, 105 Walnut Street, Waterford on Tuesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 12:00 noon. Rev. Gregory Jack, pastor of the Waterford Church of the Nazarene, will officiate. Interment will follow at Erie County Memorial Gardens.
