Anne Mary Albaugh, of East 5th Street, Waterford, PA, passed away on November 9, 2012 following a nearly three-year battle with breast cancer. She lived her life as a wonderful daughter, wife, mother and friend. During her illness, she was able to carry on with dignity and courage, for she never forgot the many blessings she was fortunate enough to have bestowed upon her.
Anne was born on July 26, 1955 in Dunkirk, NY, the daughter of Dan and Madeline Lyons. A graduate of Warren Area High School of Warren, PA and Bryant & Stratton Business College of Buffalo, she began her work life as a dental assistant. From January 1992 to August 2013, Anne enjoyed employment as the office manager of Glenn Troyer Farms/Troyer Sand & Gravel of Waterford.
A member of All Saints Roman Catholic Church, Anne’s hobbies and interests included cooking, crafts, golf, watching old movies and being with friends. Her greatest love was taking care of her family, especially being involved in the activities of her daughter, Gwendy. Anne will be remembered for her friendly, outgoing personality and her love of life.
Anne was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Lyons, and is survived by her mother, Madeline Lyons of Warren, PA. She is also survived by her husband of nearly 33 years, Dan A. Albaugh. Other survivors include: daughter Gwendolyn Anne (Albaugh) Lanstrum and her husband Jon of Chardon, OH; brother Jude Lyons and his wife Beth of Greensboro, GA; father/mother-in-law Stanley “Hap” and Phyllis Albaugh of Clarendon, PA; brother/sister-in-law Terry and Julie (Albaugh) Goff of DuBois, PA; and brother-in-law Scott Albaugh of Warren, PA.
Anne’s friends are asked to remember her as she was in life. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 24 at 1:00 p.m. at the Van Matre Funeral Home in Waterford. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kanzius Cancer Research Foundation (www.kanziuscancerresearch.org -?814-480-5776).
Dear Dan and Gwendy,
I was just recently informed of Anne’s passing, please accept my sincere condolences. I will always cherish the memories of working with her and the IOLA Jay Cee’s; camping with you all on the Little Arbor Vida when I caught my first Muskie. Dan and Family,
So very sorry for your loss and your pain. I knew Ann well when we were much younger and she lived on 4th St with Jude and her parents. Lost touch with her until I ran into her at Kerry’s Moms funeral and we had a long chat and she told me then what she was diagnosed with and fighting. She is at peace now. She always had the prettiest smile, and you could tell that it came from within. My prayers are for you and yours and her family. God Bless!!
Dear Dan , Gwendy and all of the Albaugh family,
We were so sorry to hear about Anne, please know you are in our thoughts and prayers.
Love,

The tide recedes, but leaves behind
Bright seashells on the sand.
The sun goes down, but gentle warmth
Still lingers on the land.
The music stops — and yet
It echoes on in sweet refrain.
For every joy that passes
Something beautiful remains.
— Poet Unknown
Holding you and yours close in thought and prayer.
Love —
Anne and Neil

So sorry to hear about Anne. I went to school with her and knew her from St. Joes and WAHS. She was always friendly and considerate of others. I used to live next to Hap and Phyllis in Clarendon and never realized Anne was related. My deepest sympathies and condolences for your loss. She was a great girl.
Dan – Anne and I went thru St. Joe’s, high school and then Bryant & Stratton together. I will always remember her as we were, young and carefree. We would take Jude’s car and drive around eating Fat Daddy subs from V & J’s listiening to “Born to Be Wild”. She was like a sister and Madilyn was like a second mother to me back then. Both you and Gwendolyn have my deepest sympathy.
