John Rudolph Rajinski, 94, of Waterford, passed away November 30, 2012. Born November 28, 1918 in Erie, he was the son of the late Sophie (Szencak) and John Rajinski. He was a World War II Veteran and received the following medals: American Campaign, Good Conduct, Victory and EAME Campaign World War II.

Rajinski, John RudolphHe was preceded in death by his sister Virginia Jaskiewicz, a son David Rudzinski, and step-son Daniel Carroll. John was a member of the American Legion Post 285 in Waterford where he loved to eat on Fridays, and was a member of the Teamsters 397, driving semi trucks long distance and local for Associated Transport. In his younger years he raised Siberian Huskies and had a sled team, and was a member of the Erie Kennel Club where he held various positions. Eagles were his passion and he had a substantial collection.

He is survived by his family: Judy (Gus) Manna, their son Ron (Jodi) Manna, of Harborcreek, Norine (Jamie) Mulvin, their son Kyle Litz, of Waterford, David Rudzinski’s daughters Pamela Smith, Christine Stafford and Valarie Rudzinski of North East, step-daughter Susan (Rick) Marth and family of Rockville, MD, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and special friends Dick Wachter and Colleen Wildes.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, December 8th at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 837 Bartlett Road, Harborcreek. Instead of flowers, donations may be made to Aseracare Hospice, 1600 Peninsula Drive, Erie, PA 16505, or Our Lady of Mercy Church, or to the family.
