Robert L. Anderson, age 88 and a lifelong resident of the Waterford area, died Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at UPMC Hamot. He was born March 30, 1924 in LeBoeuf Township and was raised by his father Frank Anderson and his step-mother Mickey Anderson.

Anderson, Robert L.Bob was a hard worker and took pride in the jobs that he held over the years. He was formerly employed by the Waterford Borough Water Department and had also worked at GAF in Erie from which he eventually retired. In his earlier years, he was a foreman at the Alfred McLallen farm in Waterford before he became self-employed and operated three different businesses– a sawmill, a rural dairy farm milk route, and a water well drilling business. For pleasure, Bob restored tractors and enjoyed his pet Boxers.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Della Watson Anderson in 1980. Survivors include his sister, Irene Marzka of Camp Mystic and her children; four step-children– Robert McLallen and his wife Bunny of Phoenix, AZ, Karen Troyer of Waterford, Maureen Kimball and her husband Dennis of Massachusetts, and Cheryl Taylor of Beaver, PA; also, 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and his best friend, Jeff Lowers.

Friends may call at the Van Matre Funeral Home, 105 Walnut Street, Waterford on Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 noon. Burial will follow at Waterford Cemetery.
