Pauline C. Post, age 85, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at her home in Waterford surrounded by her loving family. Born in Fairwood, VA on March 9, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Mary Anderson Halsey.
Pauline was married April 2, 1954 to Donald F. Post, and for several years they lived primarily in Centerville, PA before settling in Waterford in 1965. She was a devoted wife and mother, and as a busy homemaker, she enjoyed providing for her family by cooking and baking, growing a vegetable garden, sewing clothes for the children, and making a loving home. She also enjoyed flower gardening, quilting, and embroidery.
Pauline’s faith, defined by her personal relationship with Jesus Christ is what was most important to her. As a longtime member of the Waterford Church of the Nazarene, she was active in serving many ways including Vacation Bible School and church dinners.
Those that have preceded her in death include three brothers– Rodney, Rex, and Dailey Halsey; three brothers-in-law– Glenn Canfield, Paul Burns, and Paul Post; a sister-in-law– Leone Halsey; and a grandson– Ross Wilkins.
Surviving family members include her husband– Donald F. Post; five children– Karen Mallory and husband Jim of Fairview, and their children– Anita McManus (Mike), Justin Mallory, and Khristopher Mallory; Lawanda Wilkins and husband Dave of Corry, and their children– Ryan Wilkins, Robyn Wilkins, and Rachel Wilkins; Francis Post and wife Dale of Waterford, and their children– Randi Robertson-Frost (Chris) and Tabitha Robertson-Zeller (Chris); Elaine White and husband Kelly of Junction City, OH and their children– Carrie White and Rhiannon White; and Michael Post of Waterford.
She is further survived by three great-grandchildren– Mikey, Andy, and Brady; two sisters– Essie Burns of Conneautville and Lois Canfield of Saegertown; a brother– Richard Halsey and wife Theresa of Conshocton, OH; and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be at the Van Matre Funeral Home, 105 Walnut Street, Waterford on Friday from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held there Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. officiated by Rev. Gregory Jack of the Waterford Church of the Nazarene. Burial will follow at Erie County Memorial Gardens.
