David Frank Timko, age 76, passed away at his residence surrounded by his family in Edinboro, PA on Thursday, December 6, 2012. He was born on January 28, 1936 in Cleveland, OH, and had resided in Edinboro since 1987. On November 12, 1960 Dave married the former Peggy Blum and she survives.
Dave graduated from Conneaut Valley Joint High School in 1955 and served with the US Army National Guard Co B, 1st BG 112th Infantry from 1957 until 1962. In 1956, he began a more than 25 year career with the Bessemer and Lake Erie Railroad working as a flagman, brakeman, and conductor. He enjoyed working in his garage restoring classic cars and trucks, and spending time with his family. He particularly enjoyed a taste for pies and donuts which his wife so skillfully baked.
In addition to his wife, Peggy of 52 years, Dave is survived by a son – Danny Walter Timko and his wife, Linda Shorts -Timko of Edinboro; his daughter – Tammy Timko of Pleasantville, PA; a granddaughter -Mackennah Timko of Edinboro; two brothers – Russell Timko and his wife, Dorothy of Lady Lake, FL and Carl S. Timko of Springboro, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 and are invited to attend funeral services there on Monday afternoon at 2:00. Michael Kuvshiikov, chaplain of Regional Hospice, will officiate. Interment will follow at Venango Cemetery.
